NHS Uturn? What Uturn? Tories don’t do Uturns?

Do us a favour Nick, no more sensationalism, it grates!

Nick Clegg’s triumphalism is certain to anger Conservative MPs wrote the Telegraph’s Patrick Hennessy and Laura Donnelly 11 Jun 2011

'In reality,' remarks Tom, 'it’s just any port in a storm for Nick, though the storm that has overtaken the Lib-Dems, since the coalition was formed is little more than a storm in a teacup. Nevertheless it has shaken their core support to its very roots, which must say something about the mentality of the people who support Lib-Dems.'

They must think they are a real party which is rejected because the electorate don’t understand them. Though it has to be said that about all they ever do is a bit of ‘Blowing in the Wind’. It’s much on a par with all these campaigning groups like the Bruges, the Taxpayers Alliance, Big Brother Watch, Unlock Democracy and probably several hundred more, too numerous to list in one small blog.

They garner supporters from some are really credible entities, to get in funds, but in reality they’re little more than job creation schemes for people who can’t think of anything better to do with themselves. The thing is that the reality in all this protesting, achieves little in the way of real change.

Why you may well ask? Well, it’s because the real levers of power, when push comes to shove, are in the Houses of Parliament and the Council Chambers of Local Government. The minute you mention political activity to all or any of these plonkers they head for the exit at Warp Speed.

But if you want real change in the way our national and local business is conducted that is where you have to be, with a commanding presence. It also belies the fact that the reason a lot of people give on the doorstep for not voting, is that they don’t ‘DO’ politics. Sometimes, believe it or not it’s the leader of a party that rails with a lot of people, as they say, “change your leader and I’ll vote for your party.” But in the end, it usually comes down to, “what’s in it for me?”

However, after the drubbing Nick encountered from within his own ranks for joining the Coalition to help bale out the mess bequeathed to the nation by the latest attempt to Fabianise our daily life, he’s entitled to crow about ‘Uturns‘. Provided of course, that the electorate at large don’t take it too seriously or we’ll probably finish up in a bigger mess than the Blair/Brown /Balls Mandelson Axis of Evil bequeathed to the Nation. When  their ill-fated attempt to Fabianise the entire world as we know it, hit the buffers.

It’s like WWIII is upon us, as we face a future of austerity that was entirely unnecessary!

Watch this space, I’ll be back!

Tom
